Design and Rapid Fabrication of Microfluidic Devices Using a PDMS Alternative (Flexdym) and the FLUI'DEVICE Platform
Description:
Hands-on workshop combining digital design, simulation, and real-time chip fabrication. Attendees will first learn how to design a microfluidic chip using the FLUI'DEVICE platform. Then, their designs will be fabricated live using Eden Tech's Flexdym polymer and Sublym soft lithography system. The workshop will alternate between short tutorials, live demonstrations, and participant-driven design work.
Objectives:
Participants will learn how to design a functional microfluidic chip in minutes using the browser-based FLUI'DEVICE platform, simulate fluid flow, and prepare it for rapid prototyping. They will gain firsthand experience with Flexdym, a PDMS alternative optimized for fast and reproducible chip fabrication, and observe how their own designs are fabricated on-site with the Sublym system. Each attendee will leave with a deeper understanding of the digital-to-physical microfluidic workflow, and selected participants will receive a fabricated version of their chip.
Participants Will Need the Following:
Laptop computer.
