Create Your Microfluidic Platform: Use Case About Droplets and Particles Generation
Description:
During this workshop, participants will learn about the different methods of microfabrication, the different materials used to make the chips and the many applications where microchips can be found. Some insights about chip standardization will be shared. Flow control on microfluidic chips will also be presented with a focus on pressure-driven flow control systems. Finally, a specific application will be demonstrated using a microfluidic ChipShop chip and Elveflow pressure control instrumentation.
Objectives:
The targeted audience for this workshop is students (master and PhD) wanting to discover the basics of microfabrication, mostly PDMS and thermoplastics polymer chip manufacturing methods as well as how to build a pressure-driven flow control system and how to control the flow on a microfluidic chip. It can also be of interest for researchers and engineers that want to know more about droplet and particle generation using microfluidics and want to have more information on chip standardization, and how to connect chips with tubing, suitable connectors, and accessories as a plug-and-play system.
