Medical Advances Without Animals Trust (MAWA) Poster Award

The Medical Advances Without Animals Trust (MAWA) Poster Award is sponsored by The Medical Advances Without Animals Trust (MAWA) to recognize demonstrated technical advancement and innovation by developing animal-free technologies and alternative approaches to replace the use of animals and animal products in biomedical research.

The winner will be announced and congratulated during the Awards Ceremony on the final day of the MicroTAS Conference.

MAWA Poster Award Guidelines
  • MAWA Awards are not designed to support non-animal research per se. The research must have the potential to replace the use of animals, or animal products, in current programs within the nominee's laboratory, or, preferably, in the wider field.
  • Nominee must be an author/co-author of an accepted MicroTAS abstract.
  • Nominee must be a registered attendee of MicroTAS conference.
  • A review committee will select the overall best-presented poster from the poster session from the best-ranked posters selected by the Technical Program Committee (TPC).
  • The winner should be physically present to receive the award during the Awards Ceremony.
The Winner Will Receive
  • $500
  • An award certificate
  • Formal recognition on the last day of the meeting
