About » Chair Selection

Chair selection occurs following the general procedure outlined here:
  1. The region designated for the next meeting is identified following the alternating arrangement between the Americas, Asia/Oceania, and Europe/Africa in this order.
  2. A specific country is selected within the region based on discussion among the Board considering past locations with the goal of distributing meetings between countries in a region that have the capability and infrastructure necessary to handle a meeting of this size and complexity.
  3. The CBMS Board of Directors identifies potential candidates that are considered prominent leaders in the field and have a history of active participation in MicroTAS meetings and the microfluidic community.
  4. The CBMS Board votes on potential candidates. The candidate with the majority of votes is then approached by the current President to determine if they are willing to serve as the conference Chair.
  5. The Chair proposes co-chair(s), which is subject to formal approval by the Board.
